On August 2, 2009,this dream was recorded : "I am driving along a very winding river bottom road" We had been involved with magnolia seed pods using them in various capacities. We wrote several dreams on the outer skin of the pods and documented the seeds exiting the pod as the once plump, fleshy, pregnant pod withers and collapses inwardly, squeezing the red fruit from the shriveling husk.
We have witnessed this process many times and marvel at the beauty, the explosion of the red against a dark, gray, dying yellow sheath. The symbolism and the resulting psychological implications of the seeds bursting forth has always stirred us. We decided to write the dream on the seeds in ink and then plant the seeds in a spiral, documenting the process.
